Suda Marie
(Moneyhun) Lucas
Feb 27, 1938 — Jun 21, 2026
Suda Marie (Moneyhun) Lucas passed away in her sleep on Sunday, June 21, at The Vineyards of Frankfort, Ohio. She is survived by her three children, Philip Friedman, Todd Friedman (Barbara), and Elyce Friedman (Wesley), and her two grandchildren, Todd Jr. and Andrea. She was predeceased by her second husband, Ernest "Ernie" Lucas, and her two half-brothers, Dwight and Steve Aldred.
Suda was born in Ingalls, Indiana on February 27, 1938, the only child of Arthur O. Moneyhun and Rebecca (Hiday) Moneyhun.
A high achiever, she graduated early in 1955 from Anderson High School and was soon hired by Delco-Remy as a secretary. There she met and married her first husband, Donald Friedman, and they moved to Chillicothe, Ohio. Suda attended Walnut Street United Methodist Church where her passions were helping others, playing in the Bell Choir, and volunteering at the Church Office.
After raising her children, Suda worked at Mead Paper Company as an office coordinator, married Ernie Lucas in 1989, and retired after 20 years.
She enjoyed reading, art, history, ceramics, nature, travel and watching competitive sports. She became an avid bowler. Suda shared fond memories of her stepfather taking her to basketball games as a child; she was an Indiana Hoosier fan long before becoming an OSU Buckeye fan. Later in her life, Suda's dogs, Topper, Tillie, and Molly (Little Dog) became the favorite players on her home team.
On Sunday, July 5, at 12:30, an informal Spreading of Ashes service will be held in Chillicothe at the Star on Carlile Hill. An Open House/Celebration of Life will follow at the Suda Lucas residence at 127 E. Water Street. All are welcome. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
