Thomas A. Worthen, 73, of Chillicothe, passed 7:04 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born August 9, 1950, in Chillicothe, to the late Milburn E. and Mary A. (Watkins) Worthen.

Surviving are his children, Tracie (Rod) Dickerson, of Circleville, Kim (Toby) Hawk, of Chillicothe, Nick Worthen, of Chillicothe and Jamie (Mark) Miller, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Drew Dickerson, Brittani (Trenden) Fox, Morgan (Bobby) Cowman, Tyson Hawk, Payton Worthen, Hayley Worthen, Carson Hawk, Hunter Hawk, Madison McPherson, Kenzie Worthen, Chance Dickerson, and Brooklyn Worthen; great grandchildren, Leyton and Lucie Cowman, Juliet, Jaxon, and Josie Dickerson, and Prescott and Merritt Fox; a brother, Robert Worthen, of Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Worthen; sisters, Patty Woods, Bertha Murch, Jackie Wright, Lyda Satterfield and Sandy Rhodes; and the only woman he truly loved in his life and who was the mother of his children, Jackie Sue (Kinzer) Worthen.

Tom served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was the owner and operator of the former, Tom's Pawn Shop.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating.  Burial will follow in Denver Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
