Trena (Johnson) Butler, 53, of Chillicothe, passed at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born January 9, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio. On October 6, 2018, she married Jason Butler who survives.

Also surviving are her father, Jack L. Short, of Frankfort; a daughter, Rebecca Darling, of Frankfort; granddaughters, Elise and Joy whom she dearly loved; a sister, Tracy Johnson, of Frankfort; brothers, Cory Johnson, of Frankfort and Gary Johnson, Jr., of Chillicothe; nieces, Faith and Diamond; and nephews, Corbin, Caleb and O’Ryan. She was predeceased by her mother, Joyce A. Short.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family. The times will be announced once they are known. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
