Violet L. Schiller

Violet L. Schiller, 80, of Chillicothe, passed at 12:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born March 6, 1946, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Charles H. and Opal M. Olaker Gleason.

Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Marshall, of Chillicothe; a son, Michael H. (Shelby) Schiller Jr., of Latham; grandchildren, Marcus Schiller, Matthew Schiller, Elani Schiller, Emma Schiller, Luke Marshall and Shealyn Marshall; great grandchildren, Joshua, Scarlett, Sabastian, Victoria and Briella; a brother and sister-in-law who was more like a sister, John and Bonnie  Gleason, of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Janice Caudill, Minnie Ball, Frances Ball, Dorothy Boggess, Viola Larie and Peggy Gleason.

Violet retired from the Chillicothe VA where she worked as a Dietetic Food Service Worker Supervisor.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard.  Violet worked tirelessly to support her family and will always be remembered for her work ethic.  More than anything, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren and her cats, Onyx and Angel.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Adena Hospice Chaplain, Dr. Christopher Anderson officiating.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.  A burial will be held in Floral Hills Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family and will be announced once the time and day is known.
