Obituary

VIRGINIA LEE "GINNY" LUNDGREN was born on August 14, 1931, in Canton, Ohio. She was the second of five children of George and Mildred (nee Arnold) Davis. Ginny often talked about growing up in Youngstown and the end of Bennet St. that was secluded and provided an ideal childhood. She would talk about the two dogs Spitz and Airedale in the back yard. She loved to roller skate and was active in the Lutheran Church. She met a best friend at camp, Margie, who later became her sister-in-law.

Ginny met her husband of 72 years, Leo, when he was painting his house and dared Ginny and her girlfriends riding by on their bicycles to help them paint. She did and they married June 16, 1951. They were inseparable and able to stay together until Leo's passing last fall.

Ginny was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother where everyone including friends was welcome. With five children born between 1952 and 1960 her house was full and usually included many more kids as everyone seemed to gather for her great food.  Leo and Ginny liked to camp and took the 5 children on many adventures sleeping in a tent and cooking on a Coleman stove.

In 1985, Ginny and Leo began a huge adventure. Leo's job took them across the country to many states securing land leases for cell towers or fiber optic cable. In 2000, they both loved the desert so much they bought a winter home in Laughlin, NV and a second house in Mansfield, Ohio, for the summer months. They continued cross country driving to their two homes. In 2020, they moved to an apartment in Xenia where four of their children were born. They really enjoyed being 'back at the home'. In 2021 they moved into Assisted Living in Cincinnati to be closer to family.

Ginny is survived by her brother George Davis (Mary Lou), sister-in-law Margorie Davis, and three of their 5 children, Joy Lynn Reed, recently married to Larry Cuper Nell, Gail Ann Lundgren, Dean Leo Lundgren (Ann). Additionally, Ginny is survived by grandchildren; Lyndi Malone, Kim Doze, Scott Lundgren, Seth (Sally) Lundgren, Todd Lundgren, Ryan (Suzie) Reed, Alex (Stephanie Stevens) Lundgren, Tamra (Lucas) Rovie and, Ann's children (T.J., Tom, and Nate). Ginny is survived by over 20 great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews in many different states.

Ginny is preceded in death by their daughter, Jill Elaine Lundgren at age 16, their son Glen Leroy Lundgren at age 62, Glen's son Eric at age 32. and Son-in-law, Gary Reed. Ginny is finally proceeded in death by siblings Jean Davis, Chuck Davis, and Sue Meeker.
