William Umina, 79, of Kingston passed at 5:28 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born April 8, 1947, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Frank and Ella Belle Wintler Umina. On September 7, 1974, he married the former Sharon Sue Kempton who passed August 25, 2015.

Surviving are his son, Brent Umina, of Kingston; nephews, Greg (Lynne) Kempton, of Waverly and Eric (Lori) Kempton, of Chillicothe; nieces, Sarah (Brian) Rittenour, of Waverly and Lori Burkitt, of Waverly; great nephews, Connor and Paul; and great nieces, Sydney and Lydia.

Bill served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from B&C Communication where he had worked as a 2 way radio technician.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Richard Sovitzky officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
