Zollie C. Bevins, 89, of Chillicothe, passed 7:57 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Chillicothe VAMC following a brief illness.

He was born January 29, 1935 in Phyllis, Kentucky to the late James B. and Arettia (Hess) Bevins.

Surviving are sons, Edward (Zella) Bevins, of Kingston, Bill Bevins and Timothy (Rayna) Bevins, both of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; brothers, James (Connie) Bevins, of Circleville and Bill (Nancy) Bevins, of North Ridgeville; sister, Ruby Hutchinson, of Circleville; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a son, daughter and grandson; brother, Bobby Bevins; sister, Josephine Thacker.

Zollie retired from the Chillicothe VAMC after 35 years.  He served his country in the United States Army.

The family would like to thank all the men and women at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Sherman Tarris for taking great care of our father.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jamie Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ross County Honor Guard.  Friends and family may call from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday
