A. Richard Wagner, 87, of Chillicothe passed 7:57 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at his residence.
He was born February 25, 1939 in Hamilton to the late Fred and Mary Wagner. On October 1, 1987 he married the former Sharon Remley who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen (Brett) Lewis; sons, Richard (Deana) Wagner and Robert J. (Sandy) Wagner; grandchildren, Garrett (Laura) Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Taylor Wagner (Daniel Semagula), Ross Wagner and Rachel Wagner; great grandchildren, Maddie Lewis, Elsie Lewis and Beau Lewis; brother, Fred J. Wagner; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Hendrickson Wagner.
Dick graduated from Western Michigan U. with a B.S. and Xavier with a M.B.A. He spent his career in the Paper Industry working in Ohio, Alabama and Michigan in various management positions. During his career he was active on many professional, educational, church and charity boards and organizations.
Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
