Ada L. Ison, 92, of Ray, went to be with the Lord at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Holzer Gallipolis.
She was born July 17, 1932 in Ross County to the late James and Daisy Current Speakman. On April 30, 1949 she married Clarence L. Ison who preceded her in death January 8, 1987.
Ada is survived by daughter, Rebecca Booth, of Alva, FL; four grandchildren, Loretta Lynn (Patrick) Davey, of Ocala, FL, Mandi Coleman, Jonathon (Tina) Ison and James booth; five great grandchildren, Meranda and Olivia Coleman, Makayla, Leanna and Justin Booth; five great great grandchildren, Kayla Lynn Booth, Archer Elliott Gray, Quin Beatty, Qortez Gilbert and Tyleah Henderson; sister, Goldie Black, of Ray; daughter-in-law, Saundra Ison, of Ray; and special friend, Joyce DuBois.
She was preceded by son, Garland Ray “Buzz” Ison; grandson, Adam Lee Booth; sisters, Edna Collins and Marguerite Steinbrook; brothers, Earl, Donald, James and Lawrence Speakman.
Ada attended Goshen Run Church. She was involved in missionary work and the food pantry at the church. Ada was ready to help family, friends or anyone when needed. She loved being Granny, her flowers gardening and the family loved to travel.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tim Wyman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends and family call from 12 Noon – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
