Albert D. Schrader, 98, of Chillicothe, died 5:53 a. m. Friday, May 7, 2021 in O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center following an extended illness
He was born July 21, 1922, in Chillicothe, to the late Albert F. and Ada Blaine Schrader. On October 5, 1947, he married the former Elsie J. O’Neal, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Susan (Russell) Barnes, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Bryan (Kimberly) Barnes and Shelley (Jimmy) Hutton, both of Chillicothe; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brandon Barnes, Morgan Wilson and Justin Pinkerton; great-great-granddaughters, Emmaline and Oakliee; brothers, Jack (Wanda) Schrader of Chillicothe and Richard (Jan) Schrader, of Ashville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Frederick and Tom Schrader; and sisters, Carolyn Lawhorn, Kathryn Brown, Anna Stauffer, Edna Doyle, Helen Seymour, Ada Hughes and Patty Schrader.
Albert served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a purple heart recipient. He attended the First Church of The Nazarene and retired from the former Basic Construction.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeremy Schinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden with military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 to 1 prior to the service on Tuesday.
