Alfred R. Henness

Alfred R. Henness, 87, of Chillicothe, passed at 4:56 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

     He was born March 13, 1938, in Ross County, to the late Everett Marlin and Margaret Jane Hurles Henness.  On July 26, 1968, he married the former Cora Mae Tinker who passed December 28, 2017. 

     Surviving are children, Tina Henness, Jaina Henness, W. Keith Henness; grandchildren, Victoria J. (Wilfredo) Bales, Alexandria (Jimmy) Starr, Steven (Ashley) Henness, Christina (Dallas) Tyler and Kassandra (Krittawat) Prakopdee; thirteen great-grandchildren, Trenton, Harley, Ella, Tomi, Tatum, Maggie, Landen, Lexie, Loghan, Lucca, Leo, Lincoln, and Ryah (due in April); sisters-in-law, Helen Henness, Marty Henness, Madge (David) Estle, Mary (John) Stauffer, Frances (Tom) Henson and Carole (Roger) Karshner; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special cousin, Marilyn “Sis” Strausbaugh. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gary R. and Marlin L. Henness; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne and Mike Strawser.

     Alfred retired from the Mead Corporation after 41 years of service. He was a member of U.P.I.U Local 731 and attended the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.

    A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mike Rhoads officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery- Frankfort. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday.
