Alice L. Pierce Obituary

     Alice L. Pierce, 88, of Chillicothe, passed at 5:45 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness.

     She was born August 27, 1936, in Cabell County, WV, to the late Homer and Lucille Knight Bowman.  On November 4, 1966, she married John H. Pierce who passed October 27, 1997.

     Surviving are a daughter, Christina L. (Thomas) Reinsmith; grandchildren, Matthew (Renee) Johnson, Andrew (Holly) Johnson, James Manis, John Manis, Crystal (Richard) Pitts, Mackenzie (David) Kraft and TJ (Brittany) Reinsmith; great grandchildren, Vaughan, Warren and Molly Johnson, Lexie Myers, Wesley Manis, Katelyn Manis, Athena Pitts, Bryson Pitts Layla Reinsmith, Olivia Walters and Hunter Kraft; a sister, Helen K. Lott; several nieces and nephews including Tom Davis; and special friends, Paul Ackley and Opal Ackley.  She was predeceased by sons, Paul E. Manis and James L. Manis and sisters, Virginia Davis and Ruby M. Beekman.

     Alice was a member of Jefferson Avenue CCCU.  She retired from Kingston Healthcare Center where she enjoyed working day by day. 

     The family would like to thank the staff of National Church Residences Hospice for the loving care given to Alice and compassion shown to our family during this time.

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
