Anna Stone Lyon

     It is with profound sadness that the family of Anna Stone Lyon, 63, of Chillicothe, announces her passing.  She went to be with the Lord at 6:20 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Ohio State University’s James Cancer Clinic in Columbus, Ohio following a brief illness.

     She was born December 25, 1957, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Helen L. Cydrus Stone and Maurice K. “Turk” Stone.  She was married to the love of her life, Michael Lyon, for 35 years.  They married July 12, 1986 at the Church of Christ in Christian Union located on High Street in Chillicothe. 

     Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Michael, and her son, Logan Kendall Lyon; both of Chillicothe; step children, Michelle (Bubba) Noel, of Waverly, Rohn Sitjar, Maricel Sitjar, both of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Starla Stone Stimmer, of Chillicothe; her special cousins, Susan Cydrus, Diane (Cydrus) Hill and Heidi Seitz; plus many aunts, uncles and relatives. 

     Anna’s Christian faith was an essential part of her life.  She passionately loved Nipgen Camp and her Nipgen Camp family.  She often volunteered to help the church any way she could.

     She was a 1981 graduate of The Ohio State University and taught at Southeastern School for many years.  She was smart, she was kind, and she had a heart for teaching children.  Anna will forever be remembered by her students and her good friends at Southeastern. 

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Evans II officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. 

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Church of Christ in Christian Union Nipgen Camp 1553 Lancaster Pike Circleville, OH 43113.  Please memo the contribution for Anna Lyon.
