Anthony C. "Woody" Woods

     Anthony C. “Woody” Woods, 70, of Chillicothe, passed at 3:57 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center following an extended illness.

     He was born October 28, 1954, in Chillicothe, to the late Leo and Lova Bruno Woods.  On June 10, 1995, he married the former Christie L. Kennedy who survives. 

     In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Anthony Leo Woods, of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Terry (Debra) Woods, of Punta Gorda, FL; a niece, Alyssa (Brandon) Purk, of Knoxville, FL; a great niece, Oia Mae Purk; a brother-in-law, Robert Kennedy, Jr., of Chillicothe; uncles, Frank (Margie) Kennedy, of Pensacola, FL and Rev. Stanley Kennedy, of Chillicothe; many Cousins; and extended family, the Bates Family, the Milliken Family, the Harris Family, and the Morgan Family.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law and many extended family members. 

     Tony was a 1972 graduate of Chillicothe High School.  He continued his education at the University of Tennessee, Ohio University and Mary Grove College.  Tony had his Master’s Degree in Education and will be forever remembered as a Science Teacher at Chillicothe High School where he coached Football, Wrestling and Baseball for many years.  He loved being a teacher and coach and mentor to many kids.  Tony was a member of the Chillicothe B.P.O.E. Lodge 52 and Sons of American Legion Post 757. 

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with his longtime friend, Pastor Obadiah Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
