Anthony K. “Tony” Hammond, 66, of Chillicothe, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born September 24, 1954, in Ross County, to Marvin C. and Marjorie A. Kirk Hammond.
Surviving are his wife, Robin Nichols; mother, Marjorie A. Hammond; and a step son, Brian Nichols, all of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his father, Marvin C. Hammond.
Tony retired from RCA/Thomson in Circleville where he had worked for 31 years. He later worked for Liberty Township for 15 years. Tony was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1626 and also VFW Post 108. He enjoyed tinkering and riding in his railbuggy, fishing, gardening, especially at his mom’s house and was an avid mushroom hunter. Tony was always willing to help his mother and friends. He was a member of Bridge Street Church of Christ.
A public graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2201 in Charleston Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Pastor Terry Holbert officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bridge Street Church of Christ 147 N. Bridge Street Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
