Barbara Ann Proehl, 81 years old, of Richmond Dale, went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 16th, 2021, after a brief illness. She left this earth at her home surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly.
She was born September 6th, 1939, in Ross County, to the late John W. and Ethel McComis Gragg.
She leaves behind her loving family including her devoted husband of 63 years, Donald Proehl, and her three children, Tammey (Paul) Terre-Blanche, of S. Williamsport, PA, Donald Jr. Proehl, of Richmond Dale, and Jeffrey (Linda) Proehl, of Cable. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren including Kevin (Brittany) Terre-Blanche, Chris (Lauren) Terre-Blanche, Valerie Terre-Blanche, Craig Terre-Blanche, Amber Waugh, and Alyssa Proehl. Additionally, her great granddaughters Tatiana Terre-Blanche and Leona, Hazel, Vera, and Olive Terre-Blanche will miss their great grandmother. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Jenny) Gragg, of Chillicothe, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She was predeceased her sisters, Nettie Mullins, Ida Mae Schobeloch, Norma Jean Bethel, Betty King, and Sharon Chaney, and brothers, Raymond, John, Harold, and Joby Gragg.
Barbara Ann retired from K-Mart as a Supervisor and was a member of the Hallsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and worshipping at church, however she and her husband adored spending time with her family or talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara loved talking on the phone with her many friends and all of her family. There was never a forgotten birthday or holiday where a card and phone call were not delivered. Her children flourished under her and Don’s care. With her grandchildren, she devoted countless hours to their entertainment and supported their every chapter in life. She showered her great grandchildren with love, gifts, and a surprising amount of energy. Her loss will be felt by all those blessed to be in her life.
A private funeral service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with her son-in-law, Former Pastor Paul C. Terre-Blanche officiating. A public graveside service will be held in Little Mound Cemetery and will start at approximately 3:15 p.m. Private calling hours will be held for family.
