Barbara Ann Winks Wright

     Barbara A. Winks Wright, 88, of Chillicothe went home to be with her Lord at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at The Vineyard at Concord following an extended illness.

     She was born October 10, 1936, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Robert H. and Edith L. Zeisler Winks.  On October 27, 1957, she married James E. Wright who passed June 23, 2020.

     Surviving are special sisters-in-law, Beverly (Larry) Smith, Barbara (Gary) Lunde, both of Chillicothe and Martha Wright, of Frankfort; several special nieces and nephews; and many cousins.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Stephen Wright and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Lois Wright.

     Barbara attended Chillicothe High School.  She spent 21 months in El Paso, Texas while Jim was serving in the United States Army.  Barb and Jim enjoyed traveling the United States and Mexico.  She worked at F.W. Woolworth, was an accomplished crafter, and enjoyed making gifts for her family and friends. 

     Barb and Jim were members of Brookside Church for many years where they were baptized in 1993.

     The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of The Vineyards at Concord and Adena Hospice, especially, Neal, Laura and Kelly, for the care given to Barbara and compassion shown to our family.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ralph Hux officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ohio.  Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Monday.
