Bessie M. Martin

     Bessie M. Martin, 82, of Clarksburg, passed at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.

     She was born April 26, 1942, in Hopkinsville, KY, to the late Dudley and Annie Crawford Combs. 

     Surviving are children, Theresa Madru, of Clarksburg, Jane (Mark) Conaway, of Londonderry, Debra Bruce, of Chillicothe, John (Carla) Bruce, of Londonderry and Sandra Poling, of South Vienna; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Dudley Combs, Jr., of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by former husband, John Bruce; brothers, John Eugene, Donald and Earl Combs; and sisters, Lorine Lindsey and Wanda Woods.

     Bessie had worked as a Nurses Aid at the former Walnut Manor in Clarksburg.

     A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 in Browns Chapel Cemetery with Dean Hughes officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
