She was born February 5, 1956 to the late Haul C. and Betty J. Sams Bond. On April 13, 1996 she married Gary Mills who survives.
Surviving are children, Terry “T.C.” (Madison) Mills and Chad (Heather) Mills both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Braxton, Bella and Brylee Mills, Taylor (Wesley) Hurley and Nicholas and Halle Mills, Erin (Colton) Morris and Logan Knauff; sister, Beverly (Gary L.) Hopkins; niece, Kim (Todd) Pugh; nephew, Mark (Susan) Hopkins; great nieces and nephews, Jordan Pugh (Michael), Jacob (Savannah) Pugh and Cindy and Brooke Hopkins; mother-in-law, Pat Mills; sister-in-law, Marsha (Roger) Hamilton. She was preceded in death by father-in-law, Paul Mills and brother-in-law, Terry A. Mills.
Bonnie faithfully attended Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church with her husband, who was the love of her life. They raised their son, who she loved with a fierce devotion, in the same church. Bonnie and Beverly were not just sisters, they were best friends. There will always be a whole in Beverly’s heart for Bonnie. Bonnie was the cafeteria supervisor at Huntington Local Schools for many years, where she made sure that all of her “kids” were fed and taken care of daily.
Bonnie was the driving force behind her large, close-knit family. She was the organizer of events, especially the huge Thanksgiving celebration that she and Gary hosted every year. She was the one that would check in on everyone to see how they were doing and to let them know that she would pray for them. Bonnie was the one that would begin the prayer chain, make the phone calls and get the donations for those in need. She always took care of all the kids in her family, even when those kids became adults. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all the kids at Huntington Schools.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church with Rev. Lou Watson and Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Township Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at WARE FUNERAL HOME.
