Brenda Self

      Brenda Dale Self, 62, passed away 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

     She was born April 23, 1958, in Fayette County.    

     Brenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.  She was a devoted Christian and served as treasurer as well as a Sunday School teacher at New Beginnings Outreach Church for a number of years.  She also co-managed and served as treasurer of the Little League Lions Teams.  She is currently a member of Outreach for Christ ministries in Chillicothe. She loved serving the community and did so often.

     Brenda is survived by her spouse, Kenneth Self, whom she married June 19, 2005; four children, Gary Steven Martin (Tammy), of Chillicothe, Christy Luman (Jim), of Hillsboro, OH, Sara Evans, of Hillsboro, OH and Melissa Numberger (Thad), of Chillicothe; ten siblings, Ronald Chapman (Tammy), of Kingston, David Chapman (Gina) and Melissa Lykins (Chris), both of Chillicothe, Joe Vickers (Diane), of Marion, OH, Dana Chapman (Dawn), Mary Carter (Kenny), Ruthlee Rehmert (Ed) and Charlie Chapman, all of Greenville, OH, Rusty Chapman (Christine), of Powell, OH and Michael Stroup, of Texas.  Brenda was grandmother to eight and great grandmother to six who also survive. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gary Steven Martin Sr., of whom she married in 1974; her mother, Genive Vickers; fathers, Thamer Vickers and Donald Chapman; two brothers, Eddie Vickers and Donnie Chapman.

     Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with her brother Pastor, Ronald Chapman officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
