Carol A. Johnson

     Carol A. Johnson, 76, of Chillicothe, passed 12:25 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

     She was born April 23, 1948, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Joe and Mary Staffan Hardesty.  On August 22, 1969, she married Thomas E. “Tom” Johnson who survives.

     Also surviving are a son, Joseph (Erin) Johnson, of Delmar, Maryland; a grandson, Caleb (Heather) Johnson; a sister, JoAnn Withrow, of Chillicothe; a brother-in-law, Joe Zapata, of Chillicothe; an aunt, Waunita Garlitz, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by grandsons, Joshua and Lincoln Johnson; a sister, Trish Zapata; and a brother, Edwin Hardesty. 

     Carol worked for ODNR as a forester. 

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will follow in Schooley’s Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
