Charles A. “Chuck” Norman, 88, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 5:22 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 following an extended illness.
He was born April 12, 1936, in Fairfield County, Ohio, to the late Clarence Herbert and Jeanette Bennett Norman. On March 7, 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Wilma Jean Coppock who preceded him in death on September 7, 2004.
He is survived by sons, Rick (Cheryl) Norman, of Chillicothe, OH, Mark (Jody) Norman, of Frankfort, OH, Jason (Michelle) Norman, of Bellbrook, OH and Joshua (David) Nichols-Norman, of Athens, OH; a daughter-in-law, Carla Norman, of Corpus Christi, TX; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; a brother, Jack (Bonnie) Norman, of Chillicothe, OH; a sister, Mary (Marty) McGuire, of Chillicothe, OH; a sister-in-law, June Norman, of Amanda, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Norman; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Betty) Lovensheimer, Herbert Junior Norman and Mort (Marilyn) Norman; and a sister, Barbara Tyner.
Chuck was a 1954 graduate of Twin High School. He retired from Kenworth Truck Company. Chuck also was a bus driver for Paint Valley Local School District and the Ross County Senior Citizens and had worked for Brewer and Brewer Paving Co. He served for 26 years in the Ohio National Guard and a volunteer EMS and Fire Fighter for Twin Township. Dad was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed hunting and camping. He never met a stranger. Chuck was loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ralph Hux officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
