Charles "Chuck" E. Smith, Jr.

     Charles E. “Chuck” Smith, Jr., 57, of Chillicothe, passed 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer.

     He was born January 1, 1967 at Whiteman Air Force Base, MO to the late Charles E., Sr. and Brenda Joyce Fries Smith.  On November 23, 2001 he married Jill Mossbarger Smith who survives.

     Also surviving are daughter Cortney Willis and fiancé Kevin Craig, of Columbus; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Julie and Carl Betts; sister-in-law, Jennifer Mossbarger; aunt, Mary Ann Queen; uncle and aunt, Kenny and Nancy Fries; and many extended special family members. His greatest joy was being “Uncle Chuck” to Izzy, Ronnie, Ethan, Ryker and Bellamy. He was a beloved “dog dad” to Maggie and Millie.  

     Chuck was a member of Real Joy Church and a site manager for S.B.M.

     A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tony Lambert officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior on the day of the service.
