Charles E. Horsley, 86, of Chillicothe, went home to be with his Lord, at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born October 6, 1936, in Frankfort, Ohio, to the late Jonathan and Ruth Royster Horsley. On April 28, 1956, he married the former Shirley A. Cozad who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Jeffrey) Leeth, of Chillicothe; a son, Chuck Horsley, of Newark; grandchildren, Lincoln (Becky) Horsley, of Newark, Lance (Heather) Horsley, of Newark, Logan Horsley, of Sherman Oaks, CA, Trevor (Kelsea) Leeth, of Chillicothe and Tori Leeth, of Colorado Springs, CO; great grandchildren, Amore, Talan, Chloe, Sebastian, Titus, Laykin and Jax; brothers, Ted Horsley, of Utah and Randy Horsley, of Dayton; sisters, Pearl (Robert) Rhoades, of Chillicothe, Helen Roberts, of Frankfort, KY and Marjorie (Lynn) White, of Williamstown, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Scott Horsley; 3 sisters; and a brother.
Charlie was a member of the Adena Road Church of Christ where he had served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Church Deacon, Church Elder and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was a 1955 graduate of Clarksburg High School. Charlie retired from PPG where he had worked for 16 years and had also worked at White Westinghouse in Columbus for 29 years. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing with his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 in the Adena Road Church of Christ 900 Orange Street Chillicothe, Ohio, with Lynn White and Jason Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ohio. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
