Clarence “Steve” Lindsey, known as Papal to the majority of us, was born into this world March 21st 1951. He married his high school sweetheart Deborah in 1970, welcoming their only son into the world in 1971. He became ‘Papal’ in 1991 and never looked back. As Papal he took his duties very seriously, especially when his great grandbabies came along. Every WWE match was a bonding experience. Also teaching them to scratch lottery tickets the moment they could hold a quarter, and just because a shirt had more holes than fabric, if the pocket held a pack of cigarettes, it was still a good shirt. However, after (and only after) his morning cigarette, on November 5th 2024 he was reunited with his late wife after 13 years and one day of losing her.
As we struggle with the loss of his physical presence, we find solace in knowing his spirit lives on through the love and stubbornness he instilled in us. His departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives but we are finding comfort in the memories we shared.
A memorial will be held on November 15th visitation for the family is 9:30am and for the friends at 10:00am with the service starting at 11:00am at WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will immediately follow at Browns Chapel Cemetery.
