Clifford "BUD" Frazier Obituary

     Clifford “BUD” Frazier of Chillicothe Ohio took his last lap to receive his final checkered flag at his home on July 28th 2022 following a full life.

     He was born February 5th 1935 to Shirley and Goldie Potter Frazier in Greenup County Kentucky.

     Bud served in the US Marine Corp during the Korea War Era.

     On September 8th, 1959, Bud married Mary Katherine Barry and together they had one son, Mark (Cheryl), both whom survive.

     Bud is also survived by sisters, Emma Salley, of Hendersonville, TN and Frances Cyrus, of Dayton Ohio and several nieces and nephews including his closest , Jerry, Greg and Mike Salley.

     Bud owned and operated the Tecumseh Inn in Chillicothe Ohio with his wife Mary for over 30 years retiring in 1995. Bud and Mary then became snowbirds for over 20 years in the Englewood, Florida area where they were members of The Fellowship Church of Englewood Florida.

     Bud was a racer with an illustrious racing career lasting over six decades. He made over 500 trips to victory lane. And won multiple track championships. The Legend has driven divisions that include the Sportsmanship division, Sprint cars both winged and non-winged on dirt and asphalt. Midgets, Late Models, Modified and Sport Mods! Scoring victories in every division, with his latest being in The Sport Mod at 83 years old. Two accomplishments among the many that have always stood out for Bud are Qualifying for the pole of the “Little 500” in 1975. And winning the 1st of 4 Sprint car features of the season in 1971 at the famed Eldora Speedway.

     He was predeceased by his mother and father, a sister Pauline Frazier Wheeler and a brother Joe Frazier.

     Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 3,2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Garry Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in Rowland Cemetery, in Ross County, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Visiting hours will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday August 2nd.
