Clifford E. "Gene" Detty

     Clifford Eugene “Gene” Detty, 87, of Chillicothe passed 7:37 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.

     He was born May 27, 1938 in Chillicothe to the late Clifford C. and Mildred Parker Detty.  On January 18, 1974 he married Janice E. Huling who preceded him September 24, 2024.

    Surviving are son, Rodney (Melinda) Detty; daughters, Sue Colley and Kim (Danny) Oates, all of Chillicothe; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by sons, Gary and James Detty; grandson, Jeremy Clark.

     Gene was a self-employed handyman and attended Jefferson Avenue C.C.C.U.

     Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Greg Trent officiating.  Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery with military rites given by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
