Clyde M. Hammond, 75, of Chillicothe, passed at 3:23 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at his residence unexpectedly.
He was born November 6, 1948, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Clyde C. and Lela Willett Hammond. On February 21, 1976, he married the former Karen L. Chaffin who survives.
Also surviving are Emma (William) Hatfield, of Louisa, KY, Ammi (Jeremy) Withrow, of Chillicothe, Karen (James) Wright, of Chillicothe, Lloyd Hammond, of Chillicothe, Clyde Christopher “Pete” (Wendy) Hammond, of Oklahoma and Bridgette (Charlie) Sindeldecker, of Powell, OH; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Harris, of Greenfield and Kim (Donnie) Knox, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Karla Crisp and Karen Fornash.
Clyde served in the United States Navy. He worked as a concrete finisher.
A visitation for Clyde will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Inurnment will take place in the Ross County Veterans Service Commission’s columbarium in Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
