Connie Jo Titler

Mrs. Connie Jo Titler, 81, of Chillicothe, passed from this life to her heavenly home on January 15th, 2025. Connie was born June 23, 1943,  the only child of Jesse J. and Mary (Shuster) Shewalter near Frankfort, Ohio. She attended Mt. Logan School and Union-Scioto School, graduating in 1961.

On June 2, 1963 Connie married Rev. David Titler (deceased 2019) and to this union their 2 sons were born; Christopher J. (Amy) of Chillicothe, Oh and David (Tony) of San Francisco, Ca. Connie was so proud of her precious grandchildren: Sienna Rose Kendall (Devin), Caleb Christopher Titler, Joshua Jay Titler and Matthew David Titler. Her Great-grandchildren include Autumn, Summer and Camden Kendall.

Also surviving are her brother-in-law Rodney Titler (Barbara, deceased) and sister-in-law Tona (Gary) Howard of Chillicothe as well as nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friend Tammie Speakman. 

Connie had a short career working for Social Security Administration and for DuPont but Connie was happiest as a stay-at-home mom, wife and grandmother.

Her greatest passion was to work for the Lord. Around 1970, when David entered the ministry, she worked wherever she was needed, as Sunday School teacher and superintendent, secretary, VBS director and mostly, at David’s side. Together their ministry included Fairview United Methodist (U.M.) and Pleasant Valley U.M. Church in Vinton County and from 1980 to 1994, with Pleasant Valley U.M. Church (Ross County) and the Community U.M. Church in Hallsville, Ohio. Community U.M Church is where David and Connie proudly and joyfully served until David retired from the ministry in 2014. They then enjoyed time as members of the ACTS Believe Church of Pleasant Valley and since 2022 Connie enjoyed  attending Lighthouse Baptist Church of Chillicothe.

Connie loved the Lord most but she so dearly loved her family. She also considered herself fortunate to have made so many good friends along her journey and she considered these friends family as well. Connie was special to many as many were special to her.

Calling hours will be Tuesday January 21st 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at WARE FUNERAL HOME of Chillicothe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22nd at 1:00 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Ryan Bevan.
