Cynthia A. "Cindy" Green Obituary

On December 22, 2024 we lost our mother, Cynthia A. “Cindy” Green (Scott) when she passed away in her sleep.  Born September 13, 1956, she was 68 years old. A lifelong Ohio native, Cynthia was born in Chillicothe, Ohio where she raised her three children before moving to Columbus Ohio.  Cynthia was predeceased by her mother and father, David and Mary Scott, her sister Theresa (Tom) Burke, and her brothers Christopher, David and Steve Scott.

Cindy enjoyed a large family but she always made time for everyone.  Cindy and her partner, Jim Volpe, provided a sense of support and being present for their children and grandchildren. They lived a life on the go these last few years always striving to just "be there" for their family when they were needed.  Whether it was supporting major milestones or helping with babysitting, the miles did not matter.  Her grandchildren knew they were her proudest achievements, and how loved they were by their Mimi.

Cindy lived a full and rich life that led her down many different paths.  She has a lifetime of memories made through her many friendships, employers and travel experiences.   Cindy created meaningful connections with all she came to know and always made a point to show up for friends and their families.  Cindy and Jim made it a point to travel well, often, and sometimes, “just because we've never been there before”. They often incorporated visits with family and friends in their travels.

Cindy is survived by her partner, Jim Volpe; children, Jill (Josh) Nelson, Laine (David) Fishel, Chelsea Price, Joe (Britanie) Volpe and Beth Volpe; numerous grandchildren; a great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Lola.  She is also survived by her siblings, Amy (Marcus) Bost and Paul Scott.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.  Family and friends may visit with the family at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024.
