Dale W. Pollock, 96, of Chillicothe, Ohio after a perfect life and perfect last day, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday June 3, 2022.
He was born July 6, 1925 in Bourneville, Ohio. Dale was the son of late Noah and Loah Pollock.
He is survived by the love of his life, Leola (Colvin) Pollock and they were united in marriage on April 3, 1946. Dale was a loving and committed father to five children— Gail (Ralph) Chaney, Judy (Charlie) Wade, Kenny (Brenda) Pollock, Candy (Russ) Riddle, Cathy (Eric) Bayless and special family friends Darla Smith and Frank Hirsch. Dale was a grandfather to 12 grandchildren, great grandfather to 17 great grandchildren and great-great grandfather to 4 great-great grandchildren. He was the last living sibling in his family.
Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. David W. Taylor, D.D. 551. He worked and retired from Wear-Ever Aluminum at age 61. Dale loved fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, gardening, and spending time with his wife, children, and generations of grandchildren. Dale never met a stranger; he was kind and caring to all he encountered. In 2016, Dale attended the Columbus Honor Flight with other veterans of WWII, he officially graduated high school with an honorary diploma in 2002 as part of the class of 1943 from Bourneville high school. Dale was a lifetime member of post 62.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jay Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
