Dane R. King, Sr., 89, of Wheelersburg, passed at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Inpatient Hospice Unit following an extended illness.
He was born August 1, 1935, in Greenfield, Ohio, to the late Luther A. and Victoria V. Taylor King.
Surviving is a daughter, Karen (Clifton) Casebolt; a son, Dane R. (Tammy) King, Jr. and grandchildren, Aaron McManus, Andrew McManus and Michael King. He was predeceased by wives, Betty Gragg the mother of his children and Peggy Brewer; a son, Robert E. “Bobby” King; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Dane, a Korean War Veteran, served in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force. He retired from the Mead Corporation and was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731 and a friend of Bill W. for 44 years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kirby Claxon officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
