David L. Hannahs, 80, of Circleville, passed at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Berger Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born December 2, 1945, in Sarahsville, Ohio, to the late Donald and Martha Davis Hannahs. On July 14, 1973, he married the former Gerry Mace who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alex Mace, of Williamsport, Mary Mace Miller, of Clarksburg and Dan and Jackie Mace, of Clarksburg; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins and by his faithful friend and hunting partner, his dog, Mick. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Hannahs and brother-in-law, Neil Miller.
David was a 1963 graduate of Circleville High School and in 1997 was one of the first members inducted into Circleville High School’s Hall of Fame honoring his football career. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, overseas in Korea, during the Vietnam War Era. David was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing. He retired from Reynolds Metals and later as the Executive Director from Pickaway County Community Action. David was a member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church, Circleville Morning Rotary, the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 77 in Circleville and Circleville AMVETS Post 2256.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
