A lover of the outdoors and all creatures great and small he was happiest on his farm.  He loved identifying his trees and searching for gifts in the mountains. He created a rough golf course out of hills and cow pastures and spent his summers mowing and recreating the landscape. The last golf outing included forty-two players.
