Debra K. Sweet, 76, of Chillicothe, home to be with her Lord at 10:29 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Traditions of Chillicothe following a brief illness.
She was born March 19, 1950, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Paul E. and Eleanor Knapp Davis. On July 31, 1993, she married Rev. Donovan J. Sweet who has been waiting for her in Heaven since he passed on December 18, 2021.
Surviving are daughters, Lori Ann (Morton) Wilburn, of Richmond Dale and Tanya (Bobby) Gee, of Chillicothe; a son, James Michael (Christina) Adams, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Joey (Kellie) Hahn, Chris (fiancée, Haleigh Ingham) Hahn, Marrissa Bowling, Kaitlyn (Andy) Smith, Levi (Rachelle) Gee, Devin (Danielle) Gee, and Emma Adams; several great grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Pam) Davis, of Chillicothe and Steve (Darlene) Davis, of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Diana (Rick) Hocker, of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Teresa Davis, of Columbus. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gary Davis.
Debra was a member of Richmond Dale Church of God. She retired from Sears where she had worked for many years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026 in Richmond Dale Church of God with Pastor John Evans II officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richmond Dale Church of God from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday or one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Dale Church of God’s Legacy Fund 345 Market Street Richmond Dale, OH 45673.
