Donald E. Dennewitz, 85, of Chillicothe passed Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Naples, Florida where he spent his winter months.
He was born November 20, 1939 in Chillicothe to the late Williard and Bessie Schumacher Dennewitz. Donald married Linda Krick who survives.
Surviving are daughters, Beth (Duane) Carroll, Donna Dennewitz, both of Chillicothe and Kristine (Michael) Huff, of Dayton; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including a very special one, Kathy (Dennewitz) Yabao. He was predeceased by sons, Samuel Dennewitz, Dennis Dennewitz and Perry Neff; brother, Kenneth N. Dennewitz; sisters, Nancy Sprouse and Barbara E. Dennewitz.
Donald graduated from Unioto High School in 1958. He always had a love for carpentry. Not long after graduating, he followed in his grandfather‘s (George Washington Dennewitz) footsteps and started his own business, D.E. Dennewitz Builder. He built many beautiful homes here in Ross County including his own. Donald eventually changed his career path to in-ground pool construction. He and his wife, Linda have owned and operated Dennewitz Pools and Construction since the early 1980s.
In Don’s spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, attending the Indy and Daytona 500 races, country music, westerns, and spending time with family.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Cremation services provided by Beachwood Society.
