Donald Eugene Grigsby of Hillsboro Ohio went to be with the Lord and Savior, May 11, 2025 at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati Ohio, following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 21, 1950 in Westerville Oh. to the late Walter and Beulah (Ross) Martin.
Don was raised in the Licking County Children’s Home prior to being adopted by Paul and Juanita Welsh Grigsby.
He graduated from Newark High School, then served his country as an Air force supply sergeant during the Vietnam war. He worked at Owens Corning, and later owned and operated Grigsby’s lawn mower repair service. In his later years, Don worked at Brown’s VA Hospital in Chillicothe, as a grounds caretaker.
Before his passing, he lived at the Bailey Family VA Medical Foster Home with his wonderful caregivers Mark and Julie Bailey and Family, and his best buddy Bugs the cat.
Don is survived by his brothers Charles (Robin) Martin of Plain City, Utah and John “Jack”(Janet) Martin of Newark. A sister Barbara Greene, of Columbus, and many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to his caregivers Mark and Julie Bailey and family whom Don loved and thought of as his family.
He was proceeded in death by a sister, Beverly Martin and brothers James, Jonathon, Gary Martin and George Grigsby.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to ones local Humane Society or animal shelter.
A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
