Donald E. Proehl, 90 years old, of Richmond Dale, went home to be with his Lord and Savior November 18, 2025. He left this earth at his home surrounded by his family whom he loved dearly.
He was born October 25, 1935 in Chillicothe to the late Robert and Cora George Proehl. On August 2, 1958 he married Barbara A. Gragg who preceded him February 16, 2021.
Donald leaves behind his loving family, children, Tammey (Paul) Terre-Blanche, of S. Williamsport, PA, Donald Jr. Proehl (fiancé Jennifer Wisby), of Richmond Dale and Jeffrey (Linda) Proehl, of Cable. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren including, Kevin (Brittany) Terre-Blanche, Chris (Lauren) Terre-Blanche, Valerie (Josh) Valdez, Craig Terre-Blanche, Amber Waugh and Alyssa (Reagin) Conley; additionally, his great grandchildren, Tatiana Terre-Blanche and Leona, Hazel, Vera and Olive Terre-Blanche, Jane Valdez, Teddy Conley and Adin Waugh; sister, Maralyn Kight, of Chillicothe and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother, Robert Proehl, Jr. and sisters, Evelyn Sommers and Peggy Olson.
Donald served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He served with the 82nd Airborne. Donald was a retired boiler engineer at the Mead Corporation and was a member of UPIU Local 731. He was also a member of Hallsville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with his son-in-law, Pastor Paul C. Terre-Blanche officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday.
