Dorothy Park Obituary

     Dorothy Pauline Park, 91, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at her home. She was born on October 21, 1929, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Osa (Taylor) Rice. She married Willard Paul Park on October 3, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2014.

     Dorothy was a former employee of the Mead Corporation, a stenographer, and was a member of the Susan Henry Circle, a Sunday School teacher and choir member at Trinity United Methodist Church, past president of Story Place Garden Club and loved growing and working with flowers.

     Left to mourn her passing are children: Nathan Wayne (Debra-deceased) Park, of Chillicothe, Dr. Kevin Lee (Amy) Park, of Bryan, Ohio, Gary Lynn (Sarah-living) Park-deceased; wonderful grandchildren: Shannon Park, Ty Park, Marty Park, Gaelyn Liner, Rachael Walls, Casey Seamon, Emily Leffler, Katie Yankee, Andrew Park, Emily Quimby, Clair, Emma, Brendan, and Ava Hurtt; great-grandchildren and delights of her life: Hayden, Evan, Allison, Neilsen, Tye, Asa, William, Forrest, Julian, Strider, Rowan, Harper, Jaxon, Madyn, Paxton, Wyatt, and Carson; a sweet sister, Joyce Christine Brumfield, of Chillicothe, who continually checked on and visited with Dorothy; so many loyal and amazing friends at Trinity Church and the community whom she loved dearly and they in turn loved and visited her weekly.

     In addition to her parents, husband, son, and daughter-in-law, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Louise Filsinger; a brother-in-law, Bob Brumfield, as well as a great granddaughter, Eva. 

     Dorothy touched so many lives by being a prayer warrior, an amazing baker of pies, cakes and rolls, and having a beautiful flower garden. She will be greatly missed by many.  

     A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., in WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church for all friends to celebrate her life.

     The family will receive friends at the funeral home also on Friday, two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
