Duane E. Shoults

     Duane E. Shoults, 89, of Chillicothe, passed at 6:20 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home following an extended illness.

     He was born June 26, 1934 to the late Frank and Myrtle (Zickafoose) Shoults. On June 18 1955, he married the former Beatrice A. Gallaugher who passed May 21 2000.

     Surviving are children, Jeff (Dona) Shoults, of Circleville and Jennifer (Jerry) Atwood, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Ann (Dona) Bitter, Tyler (Venessa) Atwood, Zachary (Ashley) Atwood, all of Chillicothe, Christa (Troy) Gloyd and Amy (Roger) Shoults, both of Lancaster; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 expected in March 2024; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Marvin (Kay) Shoults and David (Sue) Shoults, both of Chillicothe; best friend, Jimmy Zonner, of Chillicothe; and his beloved dog Macy. He was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and David Bitter and an infant daughter, Amy L. Shoults.

     Duane retired from Chilpaco and was owner and operator of the former Shoults Cleaning. He also has maintenance Zane Plaza Shopping Center since 1963. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1626 and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ross County Humane Society, 23088 Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.

     In keeping with Duane’s wishes there will be no services or calling hours. Burial will be in Twin Twp. Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
