Dywynn Oma-Brucette “Dewey” Moody-Certain, 50, of Chillicothe passed at 10:37 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2024 at her daughter’s residence following a brief illness.
She was born October 21, 1974, in Ross County, to Charles Moody and Georgia Throckmorton Moody. On December 18, 2020, she married the love of her life, Kenny Certain, Sr. who survives.
Also surviving are her father, Charles “Chuck” (Diane) Moody, of Chillicothe; children, Jason Bowens, of Chillicothe, Bethany (David) Barrows, of Lockbourne, Sydney Danner, of Stoutsville, Crystal Johnson, of Chillicothe, Vickie Chaney, of Piketon, Karly Scott, of Chillicothe and Kayla Sanford, of Chillicothe; step son, Logan Earley; grandchildren, Andrew, Gabe, Karson, Aalayah, Jayleeannah, Starr-Lynn, Jayden, Naomi, Ryah, Kai’son, Gabriel, Landon, Kyezer, Brantley, Laylani, Jacob, Aubrey, Harper, Mackenzie and Troy, Bailee; a very special granddaughter, Mackenzie Desiree; a great grandson, Cohen; sisters, Rona (Roger) Kellough, of Chillicothe, April (Todd) Stewart, of Kingston and Tammy (Casey) Mercer, of Washington; brothers, C.J. Moody and Dustin, Dylan and Cody (Hannah) Alexander, all of Chillicothe; a very special brother, Chris Roe, of Chillicothe; nieces and nephews, including Piper and Jeremy Stewart, Christopher and Zach Frey and Georgia, Adam and Corbin Kellough and many others; and former husband, Jon Earley. She was predeceased by a grandson, Ezekiel; her mother, Georgia Moody; step daughter, Brooke Earley; grandparents, Rona and Bill Throckmorton, Kenneth and Oma Moody; an uncle, Bruce Throckmorton; special aunt and uncle, Ralph and Dee Dee Roe; and best friend, her uncle, Jack Moody.
Dewey was a 1994 graduate of Unioto High School. She was an avid bowler, loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. Dewey was a Cincinnati Bengals Fan.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2024 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
