Edward Eugene “Ed” Pickell, 58, of Clearwater, Florida, passed Sunday morning December 28, 2025 in Morton-Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida unexpectedly.
He was born October 9, 1967, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the youngest child of Pastors Robert A. and Elsie M. Haddox Pickell.
Surviving are his fiancée, Juanita “Nita” Carmichael, of Clearwater, Florida; father, Robert A. Pickell, of Londonderry; a sister, Pastor Connie (Marvin) Fisher, of Chillicothe; nephews, Chad (Janell) Fisher, of Chillicothe, Jason (Jacie) Newman, of Jackson, Dustin (Emily) Skaggs, of North Carolina, Tyler Skaggs, of Columbus and Caleb (Briana) Hood, of Chillicothe; nieces, Tonya (Paul) Merlitti, of Stow, OH, Shannon (John) Amburgey, of Galloway, Rachael (Jimmy Burns) McCumber, of Chillicothe and a special niece, Elizabeth (Ashley) Newman, of Nelsonville; four great nephews; two great nieces; two great great nephews; four step children, Cara, Chris, Craig and CJ Stephens, all of Chillicothe. Ed was preceded in death by his mother; oldest brother, David Pickell; middle sister, Natalie Leasure; youngest sister, Audra Jones; maternal and paternal grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Pleasant Hill Community Church 15290 St. Rt. 327 Laurelville, Ohio with is sister, Pastor Connie Fisher officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The family was assisted locally by the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
