Our beautiful Emily Catherine (Long) Lee passed away unexpectedly on April 28 th , 2026. Her passing was sudden and devastating to all who knew and loved her.
Emily was born in Chillicothe on November 13 th , 1987 to Candace (Dotson) Oyer and James Long Jr., who survive.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary (Bobo) Dotson, paternal grandparents, James and Patricia (Johnson) Long Sr. and step-grandparents Russell and Eulah Oyer.
She was a 2006 graduate of Huntington High School and Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocational Center. Growing up, Emily loved following her big sisters and cousins around and loved spending time with her grandparents. She was on the Huntington High School volleyball team and studied Cosmetology and was a licensed Cosmetologist. Her greatest joy in life were her children, Brayden and Bella, and she loved her family fiercely. Anyone who knew her knew she was determined and hard-working, always with a side of sass. A playful spirit and a heart that was ready to stand up for the people she loved. You could always count on her to put someone in their place while her eyelashes were done and nails were perfect. Her loss will leave a large hole in many hearts.
Emily is survived by her beloved children, Brayden and Isabella Lee, Parents Candace and Dan Oyer and James Long Jr., her children’s father Kevin Lee, her sisters Danielle (Aaron) Hinshaw, Cari (Ryan) Owen and Carlie Long, step-siblings Josh (Becky) Oyer, Cody (Stacey) Oyer, nephews Trevor (Rikki) Hinshaw, Tye Hinshaw and niece Emma Hinshaw. She is also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Emily’s life will be held on Tuesday May 5 th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Creekside Occasions 14847 State Route 772 in Chillicothe. Her family would love for you to do something in honor of her. Donate to your favorite charity, hug a loved one, tell your friends and family you love them.
