She was born March 1, 1928 in Chillicothe to the late William F. and Mary E. Ingham Ramsey. On December 24, 1949, she married Robert D. Bowers who survives. Also surviving are five children, Bob Bowers, Jr. of Chillicothe, Bill Bowers of Chillicothe, Sam (Lisa) Bowers of Corona, CA, Mark (Cindy) Bowers of La Verne, CA, and Philip Bowers of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Shepherd and Betty Alexander of Chillicothe; sisters-in-law, Joan Casari of Chillicothe, June Straub of Chillicothe, and Rose (Jim) Murphy of Proctorville, brother-in-law Bernard Bowers of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers William, Harry, Donald, Francis, Harold, Herbert, and Lawrence Ramsey.

Evelyn lived her life in service to others. She had a love for all children and spent many years teaching Sunday School and volunteering at her children’s school. She was a long-time member of Capistrano Valley Baptist Church in San Juan Capistrano, California and had been a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for the past 14 years. She was an avid prayer warrior and enjoyed being involved in her Sunday school class. Her love for her Lord and her family along with her strong character and giving spirit always shone through. Evelyn made a lasting impact on everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:26, 28-29
