Evelyn Ankrom Lovensheimer Obituary

Evelyn Ankrom Lovensheimer, 83, of Chillicothe, died on December 11, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born October 12, 1942, to the late Col. Harry Jr. and Evelyn Ankrom.  On January 18, 1964, she married David W. Lovensheimer who preceded her in death on January 27, 2013.

Surviving are daughters, Michele (Jack Jr.) Martin, Ann-Marie Shaffer and Rebecca (William) Hatfield; grandchildren, Jack (Cassady) Martin, III, Joshawa (Samantha Kuntz) Martin, Evan (Nikki Hampp) Shaffer, Bryce (Tabitha) Shaffer, Jonsea (Jacob Brooks) Hatfield and Felicia Steele; great grandchildren, Jackson (Kacey Darling) Martin, Jaylynn Martin, Joshawa “Ryan” Martin, II, Samuel Martin, Sebastian Martin, Lincoln Shaffer, Preslie Shaffer, Clark Shaffer, Lucia Shaffer, Addison Hampp, Reese Lawson, Addyson Martindale, Link Stewart and Phoenix Hughes.

Sisters, Donna Brucoli, Judy (Andrew) Kuntzman and Sonnie (Melvin) Young.  She is also survived by sisters-in-law Marsha Fout, June Lovensheimer and Margie Lovensheimer and several special nieces and nephews who referred to her as their FAVORITE Aunt Evelyn.

She was predeceased by her great grandson, Xander A. Martin and a half brother, Richard Hall.

Evelyn retired from Kmart and Lowes of Chillicothe where she was head cashier and was loved by the customers and her co-workers alike.  She loved bingo, gambling and getting together with family and friends.

Evelyn was born without a filter!  She was honest, funny and sometimes loud.  She could get you out of trouble or get you into trouble.  She was born with the fortitude and the ability to do and say what everyone else was thinking.

Evelyn was a 1960 graduate of Chillicothe High School and member of the CHS Marching Band.  She loved the class of 1960 throughout her life and stayed close with all of them.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Vicky Ramsey for the love and care she gave.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
