Forrest R. “Mack” McCloud, 67 of Chillicothe, died peacefully in his home, at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021 following an extended illness.
He was born February 27, 1954, in Chillicothe, to the late Carl E. and Renee M. Georget McCloud. On April 2, 1977, he married, the love of his life, formerly known as Robin M. Tarlton who survives.
Also surviving are children, Amber (Albert) Longoria, of Grove City, Holly (Justin) Waddell, of Circleville, Candy (Josh) Grissom, and Forest McCloud, of Groveport; grandchildren Karma, Marcus, Azazel, Kimber, Colton, Kenzie, Amethyst and Nicoli; a brother, Phillip (Marlena) McCloud, of Chillicothe, and sisters France Crites, of Gahanna and Sonya (Larry) Harris, of Clarksville, AR.
Forrest began his career at Mead Corporation where he worked for 17 years, but Mack was an entrepreneur at heart, and became an accomplished stone mason who took pride in the work that he did at Ameriflora’92 (now Franklin Park Conservatory) and many a home in Columbus. Forrest eventually started his own business, McCloud Fireplace and Stone Center, which he ran with his wife for over 20 years before retiring.
Mack was also many other things. He was a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist who was creative and artistic. You can look up his music under “Forrest Robin” and “Zarr Manco.” He was a spiritual individual, always a jokester, a great father and proud grandpa. Most of all he was an amazing husband to his wife, who he was married to just two days shy of 44 years.
Per Mack’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. However, the family will have a small celebration of life open house at their home on Saturday afternoon from 5 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
