Fred C. Cook

     Fred C. Cook, 73, of Chillicothe, died 11:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

     He was born July 6, 1948 in Washington, IN to the late Lester and Thelma L Butler Cook. On December 20, 1980 he married the former Janet Jenkins who died October 19, 2018.

     Surviving are a sister, Patricia A. Nagy, of Lyons, IN; nephews, Daniel, Joseph and Paul Nagy; special friends and caregivers, Alice Martin and Patricia Detty; a friend and his nurse, Julie; and his fur baby, Pretty Girl. He was predeceased by brothers, Doyle Leighty and an infant brother Lester Stanley Cook.dd

     Fred was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a purple heart recipient. He was a food service worker at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a member of the Jefferson Avenue CCCU. Fred was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose # 1626, F.O.E. Aerie # 685 and American Legion Post # 14.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ware Funeral Home, 121 W. 2nd St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.

     A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Tim Robertson officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HJOME.
