Gale McNeal Obituary

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Gale R. McNeal, 81, of Chillicothe a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker passed peacefully from her home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ  following an extended illness at 5:15 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025.

Gale was born September 10th , 1943 in Ross County to the late Frank and Virgie Newland Johnson.  On December 29th, 1963 she married James A. McNeal who preceded her on January 31st,  2023.

Surviving are children, Candy (Mark) Putterbaugh, of Dayton, Tereasa Nelson, of Chillicothe and Randy McNeal, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Honey (Jonathon) Hunter, Shawnda (David) Huffman, Ashely (Mark) McElroy, Casey (Erica) Oliver, Indica Medley, Bryn (India) McNeal and Cole McNeal; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Darrell Johnson and Wendell Johnson, both of Chillicothe; brother-in-law, Leon Neff, of Chillicothe.  She was predeceased by sons, Kim, Frank and Terry McNeal; grandson, James McNeal; sisters, Evelyn Michaels and Joy Neff; brother, Marlin Johnson; sisters-in-law, Ruth Johnson, Nonna Johnson and Shirley Johnson.

Gale was former employee of the former U.S. Shoe Company and a homemaker for her family.  She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Our mother was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She recognized that these were her most important roles in serving the Lord.  You devoted your life to your husband, faithful and true.  You were a wonderful loving, sacrificing mother.  You made our house a home.  We have many beautiful ad lasting memories, mom.  We will see you again, shortly.

She held fast to the Word of God that at death the physical body returns to the dust of the earth, and the soul of the believer is welcomed into the presence of God.  She also believed 2 Peter 3:9, that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  Her prayer was that all would claim the promise of John 3:16 and receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord.

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

You suffered through many tragedies but came through the fires with grace and goodness.  Enter into your rest until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
