Gene David Justice

     Gene David Justice, 89, of Chillicothe, went home with Jesus on April 6, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

     He was born June 26, 1932, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late David and Marie Robinson Justice.  On September 21, 1984, he married the former, Daisy Price who survives.

     Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey (Marita) Justice, of Kentucky; a sister, Rosemary Legge, of Kentucky; brothers, Bernie Justice and Charles Justice, both of Florida; a daughter, Alva (Mark) Ritenhouse, of Ohio; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Timothy Justice; sister-in-law, Carolyn Justice; and a brother-in-law, John Legge. 

     Gene, a Korean War Era veteran, served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 where he met his best friend, Henry Irson.  They remained friends to this day.  Gene retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center where he had worked for 10 years.  Gene had also taught school at Unioto School for 13 ½ years and was a Realtor.  He was a loving husband, father, brother and son and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

     The family would like to extended a special “thank you” to the staff of NCR Hospice for the wonderful care given to Gene and compassion shown to our family during this time.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Paul Winks officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.
