Gerrilin Pena

6.21.1978 – 12.01.2025

     It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gerrilin Peña 47 of Chillicothe, Ohio. Gerrilin went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2025 at 5:21 AM in OSU hospital due to ongoing illnesses. A beautiful soul gone, but never forgotten.

     Gerrilin is survived by her loving husband, Jose Peña, her mother and father Mark and Vernajean Eggleston, her sister Marcca Eggleston. As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she loved deeply.

     Gerrilin was proceeded in death by her nephew, Chaise Fink, who we all know greeted her with a smile at heavens gates. As well as her grandmothers Marian Sears and Marjorie Eggleston.

     Gerrilin was born in Knox County June 21, 1978 to Mark and VernaJean Eggleston.  She spent her childhood years in Mount Gilead next to her best friend and sister, Marcca Eggleston. She then moved to Chillicothe Ohio, where she met her soulmate and the love of her life Jose Peña, and spent many happy years with all of her family

and friends in Chillicothe.

     Gerrilin took part in an amputee group, not only because she was one herself, but mostly because she enjoyed helping others get through the struggles and emotions that came with such a dramatic life change. “The Chillicothe Crips” (the name they picked out for their group) became her calling in life.

     Gerrilin had another passion which was football. We will never forget the way her face lit up when watching her teams and how loud she would rally for thanksgiving football. To the woman who gave her heart to all we will miss you tremendously.

     Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Evangelist Worletta A. Mask officiating.  Calling hours will be held at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the service to be made to Ware Funeral Home.
